From Education to Impact

Real-world skills. Meaningful experience. A stronger you.

Module 1Digital Presence &
The Pivot Headline

Objective

Help students pivot their digital profile from “untested student” to “capable professional.”

Focus Areas

  • Decoding job descriptions: Identifying what employers actually want versus what they list.
  • Translating high school/college clubs, retail jobs, or sports into transferable business skills (e.g., turning “cashier” into “managed daily cash flows and customer conflict resolution”).
  • The anatomy of an intentional LinkedIn profile (or digital resume header).

Micro-Project: The “Pivot Headline” & Mini-Bio

Task: Students write a targeted professional headline and a 3-sentence “About” summary that transforms their academic background into an asset.

Deliverable: A 1-page digital profile draft or a live LinkedIn profile containing:

  • A value-driven headline (e.g., “Economics Senior | Specialized in Data Analysis & Visual Dashboards” or “Incoming High School Graduate | Skilled in Project Coordination & Multi-Channel Content Design”).
  • A 3-sentence summary covering: Where I am + What value I deliver + What I want to tackle next.

Module 2Workplace Comm &
The Executive Memo

Objective

Break the habit of writing long academic essays and master concise corporate communication.

Focus Areas

  • The BLUF (Bottom Line Up Front) communication framework.
  • Email etiquette: Drafting subject lines that get opened, professional Slack-style updates, and managing up when a deadline is missed.
  • Structuring data and insights so they are easily searchable by a busy manager.

Micro-Project: The One-Page Executive Brief

Task: Students take a substantial, formal essay topic (such as a 10-page academic essay) and condense it into a 1-page executive brief (5–8 bullet points maximum) using a clear structure.

Deliverable: A 1-page PDF document structured exactly like this:

  • Header: Title, Date, From, To.
  • BLUF (Bottom Line Up Front): A 1–2-sentence summary of your key message.
  • Key Points: 3–5 bullets of evidence, facts, or recommendations.
  • Next Steps: A 2-sentence call to action.

Module 3Problem Solving &
The Rapid Business Case

Objective

Teach students how to identify inefficiencies, think critically about resources, and pitch solutions like an entrepreneur.

Focus Areas

  • Basic Business Mechanics: Understanding time, budget, and resource trade-offs.
  • Competitive Analysis: SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats).
  • Analysis of everyday processes.
  • The psychology of a pitch: How to focus on the benefit to the organization rather than the benefit to yourself.

Micro-Project: The Process Breakdown Pitch

Task: Students pick an everyday process that is broken or inefficient on their school campus, in an apartment complex, or in a local business—and map out a realistic fix.

Deliverable: A 3-slide pitch presentation using Google Slides or Canva:

  • Slide 1: The Problem: What’s wrong? Who is affected? Why does it matter?
  • Slide 2: The Solution: Your idea and how it solves the problem.
  • Slide 3: The Impact: Expected results in time saved, money earned, or improved outcomes.

Module 4The Interview Grid &
Portfolio Delivery

Objective

Turn the first three modules’ micro-projects into proof-of-work artifacts that win interviews.

Focus Areas

  • Mastering behavioral interviews using the STAR Method (Situation, Task, Action, Result).
  • Building a professional portfolio (LinkedIn, Google Drive, or a personal site).
  • Pairing your work examples to key job descriptions.
  • Portfolio mechanics: How to host and share work artifacts digitally.

Micro-Project: The “Proof-of-Work” Career Landing Page

Task: Students compile the deliverables from Modules 1, 2, and 3 into a clean, single-link digital portfolio that can be shared with a recruiter or added to a LinkedIn profile.

Deliverable: A 1-page landing page with a professional design, including:

  • Your bio, skills, and key project highlights.
  • 3–6 artifacts with brief descriptions (screenshots, links, or documents).
  • A “Contact Me” section with LinkedIn, email, or a QR code.
